What E-Grate has to offer.

Tartarus Energy Ltd is out of its R&D phase with its biomass combustion grate technology.Our goal is to have a low-cost and low maintenance solution for customers, thus generating greater savings in both maintenance and fuel costs over the life of the boiler. If you currently have a biomass boiler installed and you want to upgrade this to a high efficient boiler offering you performance and efficiency, it may be possible to adapt the e-Grate to you boiler system at minimal costs.

Encompassed in the development of the boiler and its components are specific solutions to current defined issues we found with the combustion process that will yield customers better:

All of the above are incorporated into the e-Grate. With this novel e-Grate approach of Duel Cooling we are able to control the air velocity of air throughout the combustion grate so that areas of the grate that require the most air get the most air, this in turn will achieve a more uniform combustion. With this degree of flexibility we can increase the drying effect of the combustion air and improves burning, particularly when damp and low grade fuel is burned.

The Twig e-Grate is designed to be adapted to biomass boilers with thermal outputs of 40kw to 200kw. The specially designed burner head with a movable air cooled grate system enables maximum efficiency for fuel combustion. This product is suitable for Domestic/Small Commercial market. Twig e-Grate, this biomass boiler complete with vertical heat exchanger with thermal outputs from 40kw to 200kw, all boilers come with a certified Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) : Maximum Operating Pressure 3bar boilers, Maximum Operating Temperature 130oC, Best suited for fuels with maximum moisture content of 30%-40%. This boiler is controlled via a touch screen with simple, user friendly menus allowing for fully automated performance complete with Safety Gate (Back Fire Protection) automatic ignition, automatic cleaning of heat exchanger and ash removal. Further outstanding features is our ‘Green Cloud’ Total Tracking Programme.(T.T.P).

DC-e-Grate (Duel Cooled) (Air/Water). This Patent Pending grate system can be adapted to biomass boilers with thermal outputs from 200kw to 2000kw The burner includes a duel cooled water/air movable grate and will burn a range of biomass fuels.

The boilers come standard with the following parameters:

- Maximum Operating Pressure 4 bar

- Maximum Operating Temperature 135oC

- Best suited for fuels with maximum moisture content of 50%.

Reliable long operating life of the combustion grate frame, due to the duel cooling process during high fire, partial load operations and shut down schedules.

The burner includes a water cooled movable grate and will burn a range of biomass fuels with high moisture and high ash content The boilers come standard with the following parameters:

Maximum Operating Pressure 3.5 bar

Maximum Operating Temperature 110oC

Best suited for high ash fuels with maximum moisture content of 60%.

‘Green Cloud’ Total Tracking Programme (T.T.P.)

The control system is the most important part of a biomass boiler installation. Operational reliability is essential when major energy users switch to alternative energy sources such as biomass fuels. The e-Grate new control system has been designed to control the combustion process from start to finish.

Total Tracking Programme (T.T.P.)

Our new control system is user-friendly high quality PLC that offers a multitude of settings for efficient plant operation. This new control system has been designed in conjunction with a ‘Cloud’ based platform that will allow remote access to the boiler control system in order to collect data and make changes in the parameters if required. The communication gateway will be designed to provide customers and plant managers with easily updateable, automated scheduling and tracking program for all required recurring activities.

This system will also notify via SMS or Email of any faults that occur with the boiler function.

What are the Benefits of The T.T.P

This patented technology enables the system to capture real time data delivering the Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Once the raw data is mapped into the application server, calculations are analysed against the KPI and adjustments are made remotely if required. Similar to that used by Rolls Royce on their aircraft engines.

Time is everything, if the biomass boiler is frequently checked issues that can go unnoticed and not recognised by the customer who is unfamiliar with the working parameters of a biomass boiler will cost money. With the T.T.P. the customer will receive updated weekly reports generated from the boiler control system illustrating boiler performance. In doing so preventative measures can be implemented, so that you can operate your plant without worries and such the availability of your boiler will be maximised. This will result in high efficiency, less fuel usage, less downtime all leading to more savings to the customer and accelerating the payback.

Biomass

Biomass is a scientific term for living matter. The term is also used for products derived from living organisms.

By using the term ‘biomass’ we refer to the biodegradable fraction of products or by-products, residues from biological origin from agriculture, forestry and related industries. Biomass fuels currently exploited for energy purposes are:

Wood Chips, from virgin material from forestry, arboriculture activities or from wood processing.

Energy Crops, High yield crops grown specifically for energy applications.

Wood Pellets, Compressed compacted sawdust from wood manufacturing and processing industry.

Others, However there are huge resources of residues and by-products from agricultural which could become available in quantity and could be ideal biomass boiler fuel.
